Still Learning...

There are so many tiny streets in Leiden. The people are either walking, biking or riding a bus. There are not too many cars, only those passing through. It's refreshing to be able to walk around and be at your destination in less then 10 minutes. The city is bordered by canals which run every which way through the streets and around buildings. I've walked in a circle quite a few times just because the roads are not 90 degrees like St. Louis. But I am learning.
I went grocery shopping today and picked up some essentials for meals. My kitchen is quite nice with a refrigerator, stove top and sink. I was going to make a trip to Amsterdam this morning but the weather is bitter cold and we are expecting a snow storm tomorrow. I prefer not to be stuck in Amsterdam so I'm hanging on to that trip until the weather clears.
Leiden is a stellar university town, there are many people in their early 20's who are very friendly and eager to meet you. I like the atmosphere around this city and can't wait to see more cities within The Netherlands as well as those in nearby countries.
