Den Haag

I had my first experience with the train system today. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I didn't get lost and I didn't have to chase down any missed trains. It was actually a pleasent, relaxing ride that I wish was abundant in the U.S. as well. A couple of us went to The Hague (Den Haag), which is a city just 10 minutes by train from Leiden. It was very beautiful with regal buildings and cafes. We spent quite some time in the art museum and walked around the main shopping street; then made a visit to the Royal Palace. After walking through a few shops, we headed to a cafe called Ludin and sat and had a sandwich and cappuccino. It was a little cold and starting to get late, so we didn't get to go to the beach. But I know I'll be returning to The Hague and I will go straight to the North Sea!
